The resource is responsible for programming the robotic systems connected to the assembly lines, performs programming, installation of programming systems and production control through PLC. He/she is also involved in the creation of new machines/ benches in the field of programming and management of PLCs, taking care of the interfaces and connections with the electronic tools necessary for the operations of the machine/bench. The incumbent also provides support and assistance to maintenance and operators in case of specific needs.

Also, the incumbent will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing all facilities and manufacturing equipment. lncluding construction, plumbing, heating/cooling, automation and fire protection systems as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Main responsibilities for this position will be:

• PLC programming, analysis and management (OMRON, SIEMENS);
• HMI customization/customization and acquisition and control software for production lines;
• To program and configurate industrial robots (OMRON, EPSON, fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, );
• To program and configurate electronic systems for in-line control (sensors, vision systems,…);
• To design SW (code writing) machine using applications dedicated to the type and brand of the chosen PLC
• To performs preliminary analysis and correction of SW (Initial Debugging) through the use of simulation applications (CPU & HMI simulators);
• To test and simulate the SW machine (Tia portal, Step 7, Automation Studio) for debugging and make any changes;
• To translate technical documents in Italian/English (this represents a plus);
• To design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods;
• To cooperate with Manufacturing Engineering for the drawing up of new software for new lines and for enhnance existing lines;
• To find new solution (new Technologies) for existing and recurrent problem maintaining up to date records of all plant and equipment;
• To ensure that modification and repairs are fully documented;
• To work closely with the industrialization team and technically engaging in maintenance activities in order to ensure exchange information;
• To arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment;
• To deal with emergencies and unplanned problems;
• To improve health and safety policies and procedures;
• To work with programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery on factory assembly lines;
• To write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines;
• To ensure there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns;
• To teach to collegues new technologies, ex: telemetry, camera vision, setup robot, etc.
• To define critical spare parts, request for quotation and indicate needed at warehouse;
• To recognize and correct potential equipment failure or unsafe conditions and communicates this to Maintenance Manager;
• To ensure that all work performed is in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

• Functional knowledge of mechanical components (valves, pipe fittings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, etc.);
• PLC programming, analysis and management (OMRON, SIEMENS);
• Ability to read and/or interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints or schematics;
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, job related internet research and ability to learn eMaintenance software for daily usage;
• PLC programming, analysis and management (OMRON, SIEMENS);
• Robot programming is a plus
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both written and verbal; includes building relationships with team lead and department Manager
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem solving skills with focus on attention to detail
