{"id":72909,"date":"2019-04-08T15:20:02","date_gmt":"2019-04-08T13:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uncommonegg.com\/dayco\/dayco-dave-russell-third-in-blancpain-world-challenge\/"},"modified":"2019-04-20T14:43:30","modified_gmt":"2019-04-20T12:43:30","slug":"dayco-dave-russell-third-in-blancpain-world-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uncommonegg.com\/dayco\/fr\/dayco-dave-russell-third-in-blancpain-world-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Dayco Dave Russell Third in Blancpain World Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>April 7, 2019<\/strong> \u2013 Highly experienced Australian and international GT racer David Russell achieved a podium finish in his debut Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia Series race held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on April 6 and 7.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-72899 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/uncommonegg.com\/dayco\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/David-Russell-Asia-GT-400x209.jpg\" alt=\"David Russell Asia GT\" width=\"400\" height=\"209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uncommonegg.com\/dayco\/wp-content\/uploads\/David-Russell-Asia-GT.jpg 400w, https:\/\/uncommonegg.com\/dayco\/wp-content\/uploads\/David-Russell-Asia-GT-200x105.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>The talented Dayco Ambassador teamed with Japan\u2019s Yuya Sakamoto for the first time with the HubAuto Corsa Ferrari Team to finish 3<sup>rd<\/sup> overall in Saturday\u2019s opening race and first round of the championship after having qualifying 6<sup>th<\/sup>. The Ferrari duo followed that up with a 6<sup>th<\/sup> place overall finish in Sunday\u2019s highly competitive second round.<\/p>\n<p>These strong overall results were achieved despite the HubAuto Corsa drivers having missed out on a pre-race test day due to the team being delayed on their return from the USA, where they took top honours at the California 8 Hour IGTC race.<\/p>\n<p>These results complement Russell\u2019s prior GT podiums and victories gained in Indonesia, the Middle East and Europe during his international GT racing career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is so great to be back racing on the international GT stage as I have really missed this type of intense competition,\u201d Russell said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ferrari is a great car to drive, it is very different to all of the other GT cars I\u2019ve driven and I feel I haven\u2019t quite got it 100% yet after the limited running over the race weekend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is fantastic to have a podium in my first ever round with the team especially as the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia level of competition this year has definitely stepped up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYuya and I form a strong GT pairing and we worked very well together.
